Theme A โ Trenches Rebuild
The Detroit Lions enter the 2026 season with a new-look offensive line. One of Detroit's major offseason goals was to fix the offensive line after last year's retirement of Frank Ragnow took a huge chunk out of the unit's efficiency. Out are longtime left tackle Taylor Decker and center Graham Glasgow, and in are former Panthers interior offensive lineman Cade Mays and rookie offensive tackle Blake Miller. If the offensive line takes the kind of step forward the Lions think they can, this offense can be special considering the skill weapons they have.

29 years since Barry Sanders rushed for 2,053 yards in 1997
In one of the most dominant single seasons in franchise history, Barry Sanders gained 2,053 yards in 1997, just the third person in NFL history to rush for 2,000 yards or more in a season. One of the game's most electrifying runners, he rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his 10 seasons with the Detroit Lions, making him the first running back ever to do so. Over his entire career, Sanders amassed 15,269 rushing yardsโa franchise record that stands as a standard of excellence no Lions back has come close to matching.
